My T is in private practice. She has 2 offices - 1 in an old house where 2-3 other therapists have offices on the 2nd floor (dentist office on the first floor). She works 1.5/wk here, including Saturday, so I never see other patients while in the waiting "hallway" - hallway next to stairs with chairs lined up - which I like. My T is always on time, or early, and I live really close to this ofc so I'm never very early, but I do wait in my car if I am. Her other office (3 days a week) is in a group of 20 or so offices where other Ts are. Waiting room for part of the offices and here, too, she's an independent T. I REALLY like that she schedules her own appt/has no secretary because of the problems I've had with one who did in the past and I like talking to her to schedule. We have regular times but sometimes need to shift and I'd rather explain why to her rather than a secretary. Also, sometimes when I leave therapy I'm not in a place to talk to anyone/make small talk. So I do like her setup (even though the 2nd office is 20 miles from my house), and even better now that she got her own office in the place where she is 3 days a week - before she had 2 different offices in the suite, one of which had no windows and neither were nicely decorated. She decorated her own office very tastefully and it has a big window for natural light.
