I think with any habit we're trying to break, we have to replace it with something enjoyable that fills the same need, or at least takes our minds off of it. There's a ton of things you could be doing instead of smoking.
Take a yoga class.
Go toa movie or download a movie on-line.
listen to music and dance to it with your curtains drawn.
Write,
Take up a hobby (knitting was my salvation)
Mediatate.
You've already mentioned journalling - I do that a lot.
Start a blog.
Volunteer someplace.
you get the idea.
One of the toughest things for me in quitting drinking was finding things to do with all the time I used to spend drinking. Now I have a ton of hobbies, and interests that keep me busy when I used to be sitting around getting drunk and accomplishing nothing.
And remember too that week is amotivational, it makes you not want to do stuff. If you quit, you'll probably feel restless, and may have trouble sleeping for a couple of weeks (I've met a lot of weed addicts in rehab) but once it clears your system, your head will be a lot clearer, and you'll feel like doing more stuff.
Good luck.
