I asked to go back on this today to my psych. I have never asked for a specific drug before . ( i hate take my meds) but... When I was on Topamax before I was more able to quit drinking. It made beer taste like poo so I wouldn't drink it and i also lost a fair bit of weight on it. so i asked today because I really want to stop drinking and am finding it hell. she said it is a med for epilepsy and may not be able to perscribe it because that's not in my diagnosis. i remember feeling really betrayed about being taken off it before because it really helped me but didn't have the guts to kick off about it. Can relate to the soda- tastes baaaad. But for me that's gooood.
