I'm not sure what recent studies have been conducted on the benefits of Omega-3's on depression, but the original studies may have been compromised due to a conflict of interest in the researcher. According to my pdoc at the time, who was a colleague of the pdoc involved in the study, the researcher's wife owned the company that made the Omega-3 supplements. Just something to be aware of. This was back around 2000 or so, so newer studies may be more reliable. I would look for different researchers for varied opinions on this one.
