Isn't she the same mom, that doesn't allow her daughter, out of her sight?

I remember, my mom and I bonding over wedding planning. It's a time, in a woman's life, where her mom sees her having grown into a woman and is taking on a new family, in her husband.

I am just baffled, as to why she wouldn't see this as a joyous occasion.
