The affordable care act, what it is and what it is does not cover.
First know and keep record of information that applies to you and your needs.
There are Gold plans/Silver plans /Platinum plans.
Medicare and medicaid are changing and what is covered is also changing.
I am 100% totally disabled, reached maximum medical improvement, and care is now palliative by workers comp judge. 10 years later my body is wasting and I have no health insurance.
I have been denied coverage by medicaid even though I do qualify.
See the thing is, I DON'T OWN MY MEDICAL RECORDS !
So I am unable to prove my disability status, I was told by local and state levels that GOD could come down and tell them, it would not make a difference.
But I am persevering, I found a bylaw that if I cannot get my medical records,
they are supposed to send you for an independent evaluation, not reject you at the door. I copied this paper and showed them the highlighted policy and the worker got me to a supervisor.
Also there are many waivers available on the website for people that need costly medical care. A waiver is an agreement between medicaid/medicare/ssdi and the federal government to offset your medical cost.
There are plenty of people here on pc who qualify for platinum services.
Please don't become overwhelmed and don't believe what a person tells you over the phone. Find fact sheets and policy. They look like 1901 B ect. the b explain the terms of medical care to qualified applicants.
