I'm new to therapy and I'm not sure what's worth talking about and what isn't. My T wants me to start learning how to process my emotions. He wants me to pick an event that I found sad or confusing from my past to talk about. Starting out with something small before getting to the abuse. The first thing that came to mind was being told as a kid that I didn't have a life because I spent too much time with my family and didn't have friends. I thought then that I was breathing so that should count as having a life.

What do you guys think? Is this a good place to start or am I missing the point?
