I've never had a clinical social worker but I've done work with cbt. I took a class last year that combined cbt with dbt (dialectical behavioural therapy) which was amazingly helpful for me. It took cbt, added the helpful emotion-regulation parts of dbt and gave me the opportunity to think about things in a different aspect. I hope it works well for you!
