I remember right after I started having my anxiety problems needing a root canal.....I had the prescription of valium....so I took 6 of those before I went to the dentist (I wasn't driving thank heavens)....but I didn't want to know what was going on of feel any pain.....they said I just floated into the dentist office....& I really don't remember a thing.
Hmmmm interesting about the dry socket.....I am going to the university dental school to have all my teeth pulled so I can get dentures as all my teeth have broken off....bad enamel from the time my teeth were formed from high temp illness & antibiotics.....my teeth started crumbling when I was in high school....surprised I made it to the age of 60....but really have needed them pulled for over 6 years now & have just been procrastinating.....shocked I haven't had any abscesses either (don't talk too soon)......I just haven't had the money either to get anything done & am just now at the place where I have finally paid off vet bills from my 2 dogs I lost......now I can take care of ME....but with a mouth full of pulled teeth, I would think that dry socket would definitely be a possibility.....not only that but I have to have some soft tissue taken off behind the lower teeth in order for lower dentures to be possible.....that's more expensive than the teeth being pulled.......going to have a couple of inplants done on the lower so they will hold onto the dentures better......they said there would be no problem doing that.
I'm having sympathy pains from what you have gone through LL.....sorry this last surgery was so difficult
