If you are presently seeing a Psychiatrist and he has documentation (notes) that you are struggling (due to mood swings and/or med issues) I would say approach a Superior (or Human Resources) at work. They are obligated to listen to your health issues. They may even advise you to take a leave of absence (up to six weeks maybe?). I took a 6 wk leave of absence in early 90's after 2-3 hospitalizations and ended up going on SSDI because I could not pull it together after ECT. (I worked for a good employer (State of NJ) and they followed procedures very well regarding employee health issues.) Good luck - Rob
