Toe jam, it is not your fault you feel this way, GP cannot best prescribe what you need, only a psychiatrist can help with the brain imbalance. And SSRIs are the first med GPs go to..... Cause they don't know any better.

Talk to a few pharmacists about the effectiveness of all the AD drugs prescribed, they are a wealth of knowledge. They say that nine out of ten times the GP prescribes a SSRI, patient has trouble with lack of usefulness and nasty side effects, complains enough to get referred to a psychiatrist and gets his meds need addressed most effectively, most of the time SSRIs are not used. I found this infomost interesting, wow.

IMHO, GPs should not be allowed to tinker with mental health issues at all, just refer you to a psychiatrist. Same as he would refer you to a surgeon if you had a gall bladder needing removed.
