Which brings me to my second point. My husband, despite being a social worker, really doesn't understand me. He doesn't "get" the disorder and he thinks I should be able to pull myself out of depression by thinking positively. I gave him some stuff to read 2 months ago, first hand accounts mostly, of people with BD and he still hasn't read it.......

I had my husband read up on BD before my dx and he said, "that doesn't sound like you" huh?? It sounded like me to me. He is very understanding BUT he just really doesn't understand. When my problems really came to a head, I took 2 years off work. Been back for a year but only 2 days a week and those days only require 8 hours /week. I hope that you are able to come up with a solution to your work situation. If you can find something part time or if you take some time off. It really helped me. It helped ease a lot of tension at home because I don't have the job stress added on me now.
