I have a roommate that is bi-polar. She is on meds. She usually takes them before bedtime and sleeps for 12 hours. Sometimes she forgets to take them. She knows it in the morning. If she has nothing to do that day, she might take them at that time and again before bed time. If she is feeling good, she will skip that dose all together. She doesn't seem to know what to do. She takes;
Hydroxyzine Pamoate 50 mg 4 times a day
and
Lamotrigine 100 mg 2 times a day
She takes them all at one time at night. I am trying to guide her into therapy and mentor her as best I can. She is a handful and cycles very rapidly. In 4 months, she has had melt downs and has thoughts of suicide about 6 times. She has manic days as well. In between, she can seem normal. I question if this is the right dose of her meds or the right meds overall. She says this is the best RX she has ever had but she is still having cycles. Any thoughts?
