Actually, my experience has been that employers do want perfect. Why do we have things like 6-Sigma and such if they don't want perfect? And the newest person isn't necessarily the one that gets blamed. Often, it's the person who steps up and say, "You can't do X because of Y." You know, that person that doesn't feel an employer can do just whatever they want without a thought to the consequences.
So yeah, companies do want perfect. Anyone who says otherwise is selling something or in HR.
