I disagree with this statement.

The one thing I've learned is that you have to be your own advocate and take care of yourself, because it's true that no everyone is going to have a support system. Power comes from knowledge and experience. Being told you're not powerful is exactly what causes opression. Stand up and say "I'm a viable human being even if I function differently." Our society is set up so only certain types of people can succeed. That's the disconnect and that's what needs to change.

Also, everyone has their own gifts to bring. Some are artists, some are mathematical, some are scientists, some are spiritual leaders. It doesn't matter the gift, but everyone has something they should be proud of. Even if it isn't a gift that produces monetary gain. Those gifts are valuable to our lives and should be cherished.
