Hello! I experienced SSNHL on June 30, 2013. When I woke up that morning I was completely deaf out of my right ear. I treated it with OTC drops and washes. I saw a Physician who also cleaned out my ears and they were clean. I was given antibiotics at that time.
Three months later, this month, I made an appt to see an Audiologist. Had a hearing test performed and it showed moderate to severe hearing loss (see image). I went to an ENT (ear, nose, throat) or Otolaryngologist to review the results of the hearing exam. He prescribed 10 days of oral Prednisone and an MRI to rule out anything else. MRI results came back fine.
I finished my 10 days of the steroids and I returned today to the Audiologist to find out HEY my hearing DIDN'T improve
Tomorrow I see the Otolaryngologist again and see what happens from here on out. The Audiologist said a hearing aid is probably not going to help me because it's my high pitches, not low pitches that is the problem.
Anyone have other procedures done?
Do I have ANY hope that I will regain my hearing?
