Hmmm. How long have you been married? (Pardon me for asking, but by any chance do you have borderline personality disorder? I had a hard time being by myself when I was really struggling with that diagnosis.) Do you have physical health problems that require close monitoring?

I do think you need to work on this issue. What if he needs to be away for longer for some reason? Have you considered seeing a therapist about this separation anxiety? It is unusual for a wife to get so upset for a husband to be gone for such short periods of time. Many husbands go to work every weekday, for example, and are gone from at least 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. or so.

In the meantime, are there some folks who can come over to keep you company--or can you at least talk to somebody over the phone for a bit to distract yourself from distressing thoughts?

Otherwise, take deep breaths and try to focus on other thoughts. Watch TV, etc. You will be okay. Keep telling yourself that.
