I didn't have kids with my ex-wife, so it made the process a little smoother. I wasn't optimistic about finding love after my divorce either, but I did and I'm in my mid 30's too . As far as feeling guilty about the kids; she was the one that left you, so out of the two, she should be the one that has to swallow the guilt pill.
