I've had a similar experience in which I expressed a quite negative thought and laughed behind it. T asked why I was laughing and I couldn't really explain besides the fact that it was such a condescending statement. She suggested it was a opinion that I had reflected on myself even though I was referring to someone else. *shrug* I think it could be the "tapping into certain emotions" thing for you.
