To me a pet is for life not just for Christmas. I would hope that anyone that takes on a pet should think about the responsibility that is involved.
It is not the dog that is a pain it is her owner. Unfortunately it seems your room mate is not going to change Maybe you could find the dog a better home since you now find it necessary to get rid of your pet too!!!
