Sorry I don't have any advice about exercise equipment. Maybe you could do a free trial week at a gym and figure out what kind of equipment you like using.
I check the weather in the morning and the night before and when the sun is supposed to set to figure out when I should go running. Right now, I don't really have a job, just going to classes, so I can easily work running into my schedule at 2 or 3 in the afternoon.
