Wow. I completely hadn't connected the washing machine with the airing cupboard - which was in my room as a kid - thanks for remembering that and thinking of it. I don't know if that's what it represents, but it's a really interesting connection.

I definitely think it represents my mother not rescuing me. I played her part, and the rabbits played me. I didn't realise that at first. It was only when I started writing it out that I thought: hang on, why didn't I rescue them, why did I not go closer when I realised they smelled bad, why did I only think of this after waking up, and then I saw the parallels.
