I've been on Lamictal for a while now and for me it's had the opposite affect. It's suppose to level out your mood so you don't have the constant up and down. Which for me it has kept me out of depression (not including very few very mild hiccups of depression) for the most part it has kept me in a state of hypo-mania if not complete mania.
