I'd talk to your pdoc about the timing of these episodes, he/she may not be aware of it? After evaluating for the possibility of PMDD, if it then appears to be a possibility, you could be referred to a gynecologist for contraceptives --no doubt, also, many gynecologists are familiar with this issue and may be able to help understand it.
Or maybe this isn't it, but it might be worthwhile to consider the possibility, to either rule it out, or in. Best of luck.
