Something that helps me when I feel triggered:

I look around and see the things around me. Orient myself to now, I guess you'd say, and look at the objects there that were NOT there when my traumas occurred. Something that I do when stressed is I will pray, (I'm like that). I will say something like, "Fear not for I am with you", or I will think of an image of peaceful mountains. That's my "peaceful symbol". I carry a keychain with mountains on it and it says, "They will mount up with wings as eagles." Maybe do an affirmation.
