Thanks to each of you for the hugs and for sharing your thoughts with me. You have made some very good points.

I mourn for relationships that I cannot go back in time and fix. When I was very young and trying my best, I could not see the horrible mistakes I was making. I did not realise that time runs out on fixing them and relationships can be broken forever in one well meant, but wrong, decision.

I grieve. The price is too high. They do not understand that they price is too high. Even if they did, they wouldn't care.
