How much does your insurance company cover for therapy sessions. Mine will only cover 45 min once a week now. I feel like by the time i relax enough to get any work done he has to cut me off because time is up. Insurance says since I have not self harmed in a few weeks along with diminished bulimic activities i no longer meet criteria for extended sessions. They also said since i am using my coping techniques when I feel suicidal i am safe. I need pointers on how to appeal this. It has barely been a month since I feel some relief. Need advice.

When a child’s emotional needs are not met and a child is repeatedly hurt and abused, this deeply and profoundly affects the child’s development. Wanting those unmet childhood needs in adulthood. Looking for safety, protection, being cherished and loved can often be normal unmet needs in childhood, and the survivor searches for these in other adults. This can be where survivors search for mother and father figures. Transference issues in counseling can occur and this is normal for childhood abuse survivors.
