I had a presentation today that I should have been better prepared for.

I was supposed to read a popular science fiction or fantasy novel and give a book talk on it, and I just couldn't find the perfect book for it. I spent the last three weeks plowing through countless books, either starting and not being able to finish them, or finishing them only to decide that that book isn't right for the class at all. I changed my mind back and forth and created all this extra work that I decided was useless the next day.

Eventually I ran out of time. The one I ended up with was okay, but I don't think I liked it "enough" and that affected my presentation. I was worried that I picked a book that my classmates wouldn't like, and they would feel I wasted their time, and that my teacher would think I waited until the last minute to do the assignment (which I did but not for the reason he would think.)

But I guess I did better than last week, when I acted obsessive and psychotic during a book discussion.
