My therapist once told me that "borderline" is a diagnosis given "when they (treatment team or Dr) doesn't like you."

(I was once called a borderline in my teens and devastated until my kind shrink clued me in.)

His point was that "borderline" is such a broad diagnosis that it is not very useful. What young adult (or adult for that matter) DOESN'T qualify as borderline??
