I have many funny hospital moments, I made some wonderful friends who I still keep in contact with.
I remember being manic and having so much energy that the nurses gave me exercises to do. One would say - run up and down the stairwell 5 times, so I'd go do it, then madly run around looking for another nurse with another idea. I wasnt allowed leave so they'd make me run around the fountain, do sit ups and push ups in my room, jumping jacks when I felt like doing something impulsive, when they ran out of ideas I started cartwheeling up and down the halls.
When I was in locked wards we'd fantasize and plan our escapes, some of them were pretty elaborate and hilarious. Mentally ill people come up with the most outrageous ideas sometimes.
I was in once with a man who has schizophrenia, he thought he was the holy trinity. My very religious grandparents came to visit and I introduced him as my new boyfriend, he then proceeded to tell them about how he was god and they have been mislead their whole lives. The look on their faces was priceless! After we had a great laugh, he was a good fun bloke.
So many more stories. Im so thankful that I have some good memories from those terrible times.
