AP's are prescribed to non SZ patients who have hallucinations ( eg. for bp'ers with psychosis / hallucinations) its also prescribed as a sleep aid. Also heard from my former pdoc that another off label use for an AP is to curb rage impulses...

TBH, I dont agree with prescribing drugs linked to brain atrophy to help someone sleep, as there must most certainly be an alternative... But they are very effective at sedation, so I see the logic even though I disagree with it.
