It took forever it seemed to potty train my middle son. He just wasn't at all interested (and probably not developmentally ready; he did have some developmental delays in motor and verbal skills). We finally had fairly consistent success just shortly before he hit kindergarten. He did continue to wet during the night until he was 7 or 8, so we kept him in pull-ups at night. No reason to embarrass him or continually mess with wet sheets. It came in time. Frustrating, but no amount of coercion was going to speed the process along for him. Yes, very late but that was the way he was.

My other two were more like 3, so it wasn't a matter of my "skill" or anything. Everyone said not to panic, that he wouldn't go to school in diapers, and he didn't. Patience.
