I was just going to suggest the same thing! My boyfriend and I are reading 'I Hate You-Don't Leave Me' together and it is really helpful! (Actually we are listening to it on audiobook, but potato patahto) It gives him a better idea of what I'm going through and some coping mechanisms. For me, I believe in being as in depthly educated as I can be about my disorder, the more I know about it the easier it will be to overcome. (The one thing about the book is that it sure isnt sugar coating anything and is a little impersonal, you have to remember the book is about the disorder, not you. And you are not the disorder) Hope this helps!
