Do not give up on eventually returning to work. Work provides a sense of fullfillment that you can't get anywhere else, and with today's technology, if your main issue revolves around socializing with others and playing the office game, there's no reason why you can't eventually find something at home working your own hours when you are able. Hang in there and work on getting better and go from there.

I am 44. My main issue with work is I am a great employee, when I am there. Not sure if it is the depression or BPD but I find ways to not be at work. I do accounting/bookkeeping type work so I could do it at home. My last job was through a temp agency and they have already called to see if I was able to come back to work yet. Right now my doctor is saying 2 years but that might change once I am in DBT. I think the 2 years was based on a year waiting list for DBT but I only need the advanced skills portion so I am able to start sometime in January.
