when i was at college all i wanted to do was paint abstract modern art, but i had to learn the basics...........boring.............so i understand somewhat !.
as far as home and study goes you should do what makes you happy . life is a balance ,and you have to be kind to yourself.
having a break can make you into a better pupil.
