I know what you mean. My sleep has always been screwed and I go through phases of insomnia and hypersomnia. At the moment I have delayed sleep phase which means I sleep about the right amount of time but at the wrong time of day, and nothing has ever helped. I always feel like people are saying I'm not trying hard enough but I've tried everything anyone has ever suggested. Sleep hygiene, routine, milky drink, relaxing music, aromatherapy, not using tv/computer before bed, white noise apps, these other noise apps out now, hypnosis apps, medication, staying awake until the time I should go to sleep (I just end up awake but feeling ill but still unable to sleep), exercise, going out for sunshine, going to the seaside… everything… but my body is not having it. It has decided how and when it is going to sleep.
