I was teased when I was a child too. In high school it only got worse. I went to a public high school in a small town. Since I was living in a group home for 'troubled' teenage girls, I already had one strike against me. The group home was not welcome because there were 'minority' residents living there...and this was the late 1970's(Evidently no one in that small town heard of CIVIL RIGHTS). The second thing was that I was 'special needs' because of problems with math, coordination, and speech..the kids at school, especially guys, teased and bullied me, called me 'geek' and 'spaz' even after I succeded in joining the school's track and field team...I wonder why the school personnel did NOTHING to step in and stop it..and why kids(and some adults)think it's cool, fun, and perfectly okay to tease people who are 'different' in any way from them.
