Can you continue to be a foster parent?
I'm your age, turning 27 less than a month after you. I'm also thinking about having kids but know that I am not ready right now. I do have a husband, and he's been very supportive. He also agrees we're not ready for children. I'm currently on medication, too. But I am starting to prepare myself for the possibility of being a mother. I started running, taking vitamins, and eating better. I'm also more on a routine and a normal sleep schedule. We're working on building up our savings. I'm finishing my degree, and for the first time in my life, I'm doing really well in school without feeling overwhelmed or about to withdraw from all my classes. We're not planning on even really thinking about having kids for another four years, but taking the steps necessary to get myself as healthy mentally and physically as possible makes me feel pro-active and in control. It helps motivate me to continue the good pattern I've started.
I don't know if sharing my experience was any help. I think it's great that you were a foster parent. I've thought about becoming one, but I know I'm not even ready for that yet. Best wishes
