Yes, and breathing is overrated.
I think the reality is many simply don't know that Benadryl is active against serotonin. Moreover, many still don't understand antidepressants are generally contraindicated in patients with bipolar disorder. The extent of training that a typical physician receives in mood disorders is limited to major depressive disorder. In this instance, Benadryl, and other sedative antidepressants help treat the primary depression. In bipolar disorder it opposite is often true. Susceptibility to drug induced mental states is rare in the general population.
Blue doesn't have to decide between breathing and steroid induced mental states, she can go to the doctor and get something different.
