I completly agree with this advice, I sat on the idea for a couple of years before I got my first, and while it is very important and personal to me I ended up getting it in a place where if I change my mind in 10 years noone, not even me can see it unless I want them to.

I have given them all alot of thought, and reallt think of the implications - social acceptance, job interviews etc when deciding exactly what I have and where on my body I have it
