I'm sorry you are going through a hard time. I will never understand the thinking of doctors. I'm guess your doc is concerned about dependence or addiction? Yet he is giving you 450mg of a med that can be harder to withdraw from than a benzo. And he is also giving you 500mg of other meds. I don't see how a doctor can think the possibility of becoming dependent on a benzo is worse than feeling miserable and incapacitated or self medicating with alcohol.
Did the clonazepam help? I don't think it's usually effective immediately.
