You wont know how the pills affect you until you take them. Some people don't have any side affects and some do. It is also normal to be anxious about taking pills if you aren't used to it.

The doctor wouldn't prescribed the medications if he/she didn't think it was warranted. Maybe it might be nice to get some sleep. You can always stop taking them if you need to.
