I'm really excited about this. I just got a contract with a student government board of directors at the university I did my undergrad at, to do a forensic audit of the former executive director's e-mail.
There was all sorts of financial impropriety under his leadership so he was fired and is now counter suing for wrongful dismissal.
I'm to go through all his recovered e-mail and look for documentation around spending, and anything that could go boom in the lawsuit.
The money is really good, I'm guaranteed minimum billings of $2K and it'll probably wind up being higher.
But the best part is that this is going to look great on my resume, since it's direct experience in forensics, when I graduate from my forensic accounting program next April.
