I've been angry all my life, and had my anger pointed out to me as scary and over the top more than once, even though I haven't crossed the line into violence. What helped me was mindfulness meditation. I do it twice a day now for 10 minutes morning and night. I made some posts about it with good links where you can learn how to do it and how it works. Not religious, it predates buddhism. It's a practice to assist you in calming and learning about your mind. Good luck. Nothing else worked for me. This was free and effective in a matter of days. I can't guarantee everyone would get such fast results, but it's got to be faster than psychotherapy, and it's not expensive. Just costs a little time. I hope you find something that works for you.
