It went really well you guys... I was nervous about it but the students were super supportive and super acceptive and there was just such a positive energy in the room. It was as 85 minute presentation and I did not prepare anything before hand (so I wasn't sure how it was going to go). Everyone asked such great questions. It really opened my eyes to how much young people really do care and want to know about these things. I think the reason for so much stigmatism around mental disorders is because people are afraid to talk about it. I saw in these kids that people really do care and I think that is such a positive step toward destigmatising mental disorders. I highly encourage people to spread awareness because it feels so good to know that you are helping bring change to how society views mental illness.
Not just this, but I was always the little shy kid. Two years ago, I never would have done this. It felt so good and I feel so proud when I see how far I've come.
