yeah, I wrote a piece on the abuse of ADHD medication. And primary care docs are actually not trained to prescribe psych meds. They can do it. But they don't have the knowledge that psychiatrists do. Many are way to quick to write a script. On the contrary, abuse is becoming wider known and for that reason, some doctors refuse to write scripts for ADHD medication. So it can go both ways. Going to a psychiatrist is the best option because they can properly diagnose you and treat you. It's a win-win.
