It is possible that your friend may have his/her own issues going on right now and that is causing them to lash out in this way. I think it is safe to take a break from this person to evaluate how healthy this relationship is for you at this time in your recovery. Considering that this person also has BPD makes me think this may deserve a second chance. There is too little detail here for me to fully judge if their reaction was truly out of whack for a friend or not. Best of luck...I think it's perfectly healthy to remove yourself from the situation until you feel otherwise.
