I recently had surgery and was treated with steroids. I've been painfully aware that my face has the characteristic moon shape associated with the meds and that I look heavier than normal sue to swelling.

A little while ago I held the elevator for one of the other tenents. He looked at me and exclaimed, "My God, you've packed on the weight!" I just looked at him and mumbled something, I can't even remember what. Then he said, "That doesn't mean it's a bad thing. Your face is really full now. It looks better really full." Mercifully the door opened and he got off at his floor, put his powerchair on high speed and took off.

I just love it when people are so very complimentary. I don't know whether to laugh or cry, but I think I'll stick to the laughing part.
