Well honestly I've never seen a script for more then 3x a day but hey I will be the first to admit I'm no doc or expert. I do know that Xanax has a higher potential for dependency because it doesn't last as long as other benzos. It fast acting and wears off faster making it faster to build up a tolerance and addiction for it. You may want to discuss switching to klonopin with your doc because klons last longer and building a tolerance for them takes longer. But my guess is if your taking that many xanax per day, your doc will want to weed you off benzos. Xanax is much easier to get addicted to because they wear off so fast.
