Oh wow, Captain, that is a very difficult situation to be in. Just take things one step at a time... I think maybe telling your therapist first would be the most important thing, because of the confidentiality, and also with the idea that he/she could help you along this process, so you don't always have to make these immense decisions by yourself. I agree with Traveling, that when you mention it to either your dad or your boyfriend, that you start off by mentioning how much you care for that loved one, which is why it's so important to you to be open and honest to them and talk about the things that have really been upsetting you lately and/or are a part of who you are, such as you hurting yourself.
